COMMUNITY
background
Hercules Materials Holdings, LLC was formed in 2020 to provide ready mix concrete services in Metro
Detroit and beyond. Since that time, we have grown into one of the largest ready mix concrete suppliers
in Metro Detroit. We currently employ over 240 people at our six facilities. Our drivers are union members
and can earn over $33 per hour. Hercules’ affiliates operate concrete production facilities in Detroit
(Hercules Concrete, LLC), Center Line (Titan Concrete, LLC), Pontiac (Zeus Concrete, LLC), Ypsilanti
(Pegasus Concrete, LLC), and Marshall, Michigan (Atlas Concrete, LLC). We are excited and proud that our
newest state of the art facility is located at 3399 E. McNichols in Detroit (Kronos Concrete, LLC).
project description
The Kronos facility is located in Detroit’s Cadillac Heights area and is bounded by E. McNichols Road to
the South, Jerome Street to the North, Moran Street to the east and Joseph Campau Avenue to the
west. The entire Kronos facility is zoned M4 (Intensive Industrial). A zoning map is attached
here.
The facility area will cover approximately 29 acres. A map showing the location of the facility
here.
The Kronos facility is similar in technology, size and scope to our plants in Center Line, Ypsilanti, and Pontiac.
The new Kronos facility represents a $10,000,000 investment in Cadillac Heights. To our knowledge, this
is the largest single private investment in Cadillac Heights in over 20 years. Conceptual renderings
showing before the investment and after the investment and other information can be viewed
here.
additional description
The Kronos Plant will include streetscape improvements, tree plantings, and a green berm that meets or
exceeds the City of Detroit’s buffering requirements. The Kronos plant complies with the City of Detroit
noise ordinance, which is attached
here.
jobs
We are excited to invest and create jobs in Cadillac Heights. On May 20, 2024, we conducted a job fair at
Kronos and received over 250 applications. Photos of the event can be viewed
here.
Below is a quote from David A. Johnson II, Senior Pastor at Kingdom Covenant Church across from Kronos regarding the
job fair.
“We were so honored to partner with Hercules Concrete for their Community Job Fair yesterday. To
create opportunities for employment for people in the city of Detroit and throughout the metropolitan
area is a joy for us to be a part of. My wife Lady Kimya, our staff, and the entire membership of Kingdom
Covenant Church are committed to seeing our community thrive. The turnout for this event was a great
step in a positive direction.”
In the meantime, we continue to hire at all locations. To see a list of available jobs with our companies,

Kronos is proud to partner with the Detroit Police Department in Project Green Light Detroit. This
project is the first public-private-community partnership of its kind, blending a mix of real-time
crime-fighting and community
policing aimed at improving neighborhood safety, promoting the revitalization and growth of local
businesses, and strengthening DPD's efforts to deter,
identify, and solve crime.
kingdom covenant church

community resource fair
On August 25, 2024, Kronos participated in the Community Resource Fair at Kingdom Covenant Church as a backpack sponsor. Kronos is committed to being a good neighbor in Cadillac Heights.
wounded warriors
Hercules participated and sponsored the Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament to raise money for veterans in the community. We are honored to support their mission to honor and empower wounded warriors and their vision to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.
construction vs cancer
We were proud to partner with the American Cancer Society for the 2024 Big Dig of Michigan: Construction vs. Cancer event! The Big Dig of Michigan allows children of all ages a hands-on and immersive introduction to the construction industry and field of STEM. We provided equipment for demonstrations, letting children operate select machinery with the assistance of certified volunteers and take photos in the driver's seat or next to these larger-than-life machines! You can also expect construction-themed crafts, demonstrations, and activities. Funds raised through the Big Dig support the American Cancer Society's pediatric initiatives.
halloween
On October 31st, Kronos participated with the 11th Precinct’s Halloween event to hand out candies to the kids in the community. It was great meeting the parents and kids within the community.
